I’m a person in long term recovery dedicated to serving the underserved and overlooked vulnerable population in our recovery community. Attended Portland Community College studying Alcohol & Drug Counseling. I’ve worked at several non-profit organizations in the Portland metro area for 15 years. I currently work in the Multnomah County Health Dept. serving as a Clinical Services Specialist Behavior Health. A proud member of the Just Men in Recovery group since 1999. Voted in as the Chairperson for the group in 2018.
Desiree Jones Secretary/Bookkeeper
Has lived Portland for 17 years. Desiree graduated from
Portland State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education.
Desiree currently owns and operates Robbi’s Place Child Care, LLC. in
Portland, OR. Desiree is also the Accounts Payable Specialist and Human
Resources Representative for Highland Christian Center. With over 20 years of
experience in administrative roles, Desiree is a skilled Administrative Assistant
dedicated to enhancing organizational efficiency.
Alexis Ashby Strategist/Planner
Alexis has dedicated over 14 years to local government social service programs. Since April of 2020 serving as a Division Director. A lifelong Portland resident, and graduate from Portland State University; she is passionate about supporting communities in need, engaging in grassroots organizing and helping those in recovery. Alexis is committed to dismantling systemic injustices and advancing social services that empower individuals and families. She actively collaborates with organizations that promote economic stability and holistic support for underserved populations.
Darrielle Simms Accountant
Darrielle has worked in the finance industry for over 25 years, including 10 years at a Big 4 accounting firm specializing in the management of the firm’s billing/invoicing of professional fees and services. She is currently employed by the State at Metro Regional Government. In this role, she leads the account receivables team as an Accountant II. Darrielle has used her finance background to serve her local community and currently serves as Treasurer on several executive boards, including the National Association of Black Veterans (NABVETS), AARP N/NE Chapter#32, and Highland Haven. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Memphis, and did graduate work at Portland State University. She is a proud veteran of the United States Navy.
